| The location of MATIS within the so-called “Etna Valley” in Catania (Sicily, Italy), is strategic for the developing of applied research in high-tech materials in connection with the nearby industries and Centres, such as ST-Microelectronics and Applied Materials. | |
| The main site of MATIS is located in Catania hosted inside the premises of the Departments of Physics & Astronomy and of Physical & Chemical Methodologies for Engineering within the campus of the University of Catania. |

| A MATIS team is also active within the University of Padua, Italy (Department of Physics “Galileo Galilei”). Despite the distance between the two sites we act as a single group, putting together the different experiences and facilities, and operating under a single coordination. | |
